Hindustan Latex Family Planning Promotion Trust (HLFPPT) established in 1992 as a social enterprise is a non-for-profit organisation promoted by HLL. The Trust aims to make available affordable health solutions to help communities overcome healthcare challenges. With over 500 employees, HLFPPT mainly supports implementation of Reproductive Child Health (RCH) and HIV prevention and care programmes in 11 states in India as part of its core activities.
The Trust seeks to establish efficient public-private partnerships in order to help people at the bottom of the pyramid. HLFPPT also works through social marketing, community participation/ mobilisation, advocacy and networking, evidence-based programme design, training and capacity building, knowledge management, monitoring and evaluation, research and establishing best practices and models for scale-up.
HLFPPT works in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), state governments of Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, North Eastern states, Orissa, Rajasthan, Uttaranchal and Uttar Pradesh to bring about positive change in the lives of women and children.
Programmes include spreading awareness on family planning and sex education with focus on HIV/AIDS, maternal and child health, homosexuality and safe sex methods. HLFPPT is currently involved in projects such as Targeted Condom Social Marketing Programme, Maharastra Condom Social Marketing Project, Merrygold Health Network for providing Reproductive & Child Health (RCH) services through private centres, Technical Support Group(TSG) - National Aids Control Organisation (NACO), Swagati for high-risk behaviour groups, Nischay for home-based pregnancy test cards, Sankalp as part of integrated HIV and RCH programmes for insured persons, Female Condom Social Marketing among female sex workers, Promoting Access to Care and Support, Urban Reproductive Health Initiative, Regional Resource Centre, Uttrakhand Mobile Health Clinics, Technical Support Units, Condom Vending Machine, Social Marketing of Oral Rehydration Salt (ORS) and Zinc, Kerala State Disease Control and Monitoring Cell and Voluntary Blood Donation.
The Department for International Development (DFID), European Commission (EC), United States Agency for International Development (USAID), OXFAM, Norway India Partnership Initiative (NIPI) and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), among others, support programmes by HLFPPT.
