UV sanitizing box
Ultraviolet germicidal irradiation has been used for sterilization and disinfection as early as the mid-20th century. It uses ultraviolet rays (UVC) of shortwave length around 254 nm to destroy or inactivate microorganisms. UV sterilization works by breaking down certain chemical bonds and scrambling the structure of DNA, RNA and proteins, causing a microorganism unable to multiply. When a microorganism is unable to multiply, it is considered dead since it cannot reproduce within a host and is no longer infectious.
Based on this HLL Lifecare Limited, Akkulam Factory Trivandrum has developed UV sanitization chambers (UV sanitizers).
The need to sanitize daily-use objects that we use and touch every day is becoming crucial as airborne microbes settle on these objects, causing an increased risk of infection spread. HLL UV sanitizing box ensures sterilisation of any object o like mobile, laptop, calculator, other electronic gadgets, files, folders, stationaries, mask, gloves, jewellery, surgical equipment, etc. This devise is tested to be a 99.999999 (8 log reduction) efficient in killing virus. The efficacy is validated and recommended by Sree Chitra Tirunal Institite of Medical Sciences and Technology, an institute of national importance under Govt of India which is approved by Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
