M/S HLL Lifecare Ltd (HLL), a fully owned Public Sector Undertaking of the Government of India under the administrative control of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) has proposed an Industry Meet on Medical Equipment and Hospital Furniture. The aim is to facilitate interaction of Industry with actual users of the medical equipment and hospital furniture in tertiary healthcare public institution settings. HLL has been appointed by MoHFW as Procurement Support Agent (PSA) for the six new All India Institutes of Medical Sciences set up under Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY). PMSSY also involves up-gradation of 58 Government Medical College Institutions to tertiary healthcare (super specialty) level. Procurement under PMSSY falls under five broad categories, namely, (i) OT, CSSD & Gas Pipeline; (ii) diagnostic facilities related equipment; (iii) treatment related equipment; (iv)teaching and research related equipment; and (v) hospital furniture.

It has been decided that a day-long Industry Meet on Medical Equipment and Hospital Furniture would be held at the Banquet Hall, Hotel The Ashok, 50 B, Diplomatic Enclave, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi on 24 August 2013. Faculty and senior officials of State GMCs; Safdarjung Hospital & VMMC; PGI-RML; MAMC; LHMC; AIIMS New Delhi / Bhopal/ Bhubaneswar/ Jodhpur/ Patna/ Raipur/ Rishikesh; PGIMER Chandigarh; JIPMER Puducherry; NIMHANS Bangalore; NEIGRIHMS Shillong and other premier institutions would be invited to attend the meet. The meet would have participation of domestic and foreign industry connected with the five broad categories mentioned above. The function would be inaugurated at 9.30 AM by Secretary to the Government of India, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.

HLL has made arrangements to provide, free of cost, the venue of the meet to industry participants through the three Industry Associations, for showcasing their products and services connected with the five broad categories mentioned above. HLL will also extend similar facilities and arrangements to foreign industry participants through their respective Missions in India or through Indian Missions abroad. HLL would provide information dissemination tables, free of cost, to the industry participants through the three Associations or through the Missions.

The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM), and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) have agreed to participate along with their relevant industry members. Each of the three Associations would be given one hour to make their presentations in the meeting venue which will be adjacent to the information dissemination venue in Hotel The Ashok. Each of the foreign missions located in India would be given 15 minutes’ presentation time so that the industry participants from their countries could make brief presentations.

Heads of Missions of Germany, Japan, China, US, UK, Sweden, Switzerland, France, Italy, Netherland, Brazil, Australia, Korea, Taiwan and Singapore located in India, are particularly invited to kindly take part along with the industry representatives of their countries so as to showcase their latest technology relevant to tertiary healthcare public institutions.

Heads of Indian Missions located in Germany, Japan, China, US, UK, Sweden, Switzerland, France, Italy, Netherland, Brazil, Australia, Korea, Taiwan and Singapore, are particularly invited to kindly facilitate participation of industry representatives of their countries of responsibility so as to showcase latest technology relevant to tertiary healthcare public institutions.

Head of the Division concerned in the Ministry of External Affairs have been requested to facilitate. Letters to HE the Ambassadors or the High Commissioners of the particularly identified countries have also been sent by MoHFW requesting their participation. Nodal person for this activity is Mr R.
