Dr Anitha Thampi assumes charge as the new Director of HLL
Thiruvananthapuram, 04 January 2023: Dr Anitha Thampi has taken charge as the new
Director –Technical & Operations of HLL Lifecare Limited, a Mini Ratna PSU under the
Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt of India.
With more than three decades of experience in diverse fields, she has been currently
serving as Vice President– HLL Corporate R&D and CEO of HLL Management Academy,
the academic and social development division of HLL. She has earlier served as CEO of
HLL’s subsidiary Goa Antibiotics and Pharmaceuticals Limited (GAPL).
A graduate in Chemical Engineering from the University of Kerala, Dr Anitha Thampi
holds an MTech and PhD from IIT Bombay.
She joined HLL in 1991 as Executive Trainee and has handled multiple domains
including operations, R&D and social projects. She was instrumental in the launch of
THINKAL, the innovative Menstrual Cup distribution and awareness project of HLL,
which is being well received by the masses.
She is a renowned poet, essayist and translator and is also the recipient of Kerala
Sahitya Academy Award in 2021. Her husband Mr Ajayakumar is a senior designer at
Ernst & Young. The couple has a daughter, Meenakshi.
Currently, HLL group consists of five entities: the parent company HLL Lifecare
Ltd; HLL Infra Tech Services Ltd (HITES); LifeSpring Hospitals; Goa Antibiotics and
Pharmaceuticals Limited (GAPL); Hindustan Latex Family Planning Promotion Trust
(HLFPPT); and HLL Management Academy (HMA).
